Holy carp! That’s one sick stalefish. Yep, that’s Benji Galloway tearing-up the square bowl at Pier Park. OK, we’re out of fish references but we do have some more pics of Benji killing it after the turn.
Congratulations Benji!

Congratulations Benji!
A lot of folks came out to Pier Park this weekend to celebrate its second anniversary. The weather was perfect and the sessions were heated. Bacon’s Benji Galloway was sizzlin’ it up in the deep. Check out some skate contortions by Benji after the turn.
It was hot as a dragon’s breath during the Tigard stop of the 2008 Trifecta but that didn’t stop the pros from just killing it. The field was massive with over 70 skaters competing for the cash. With that many skaters zooming around on fast Dreamland ‘crete, a few mishaps are bound to happen. Aside from a few minor injuries, the contest was a huge success. Pure skateboarding mayhem went down along with some tunes and a few fireworks. Check out over 100 photos from the Pro ranks in the gallery.

Grab your skate along with your bag of tricks and head to the new Vancouver skatepark. Why? Well, they’re going to have a contest and they are looking for folks to compete. The gents over at Bacon Skateboards donated 30 complete decks to Windells for this year’s batch of skate campers. Campers will have free access to these boards during their stay at the camp. How cool is that?
Each board was lovingly assembled by the folks at Bacon including some sweet grip tape work by Tim Eberly. Here’s the list of sponsors and their contributions:
Check out a small photo essay of board delivery day after the turn.
Stop the presses! It’s time for our official Pier Park Oregon Trifecta post. There was so much Trifecta coverage during the summer, we decided hold-off until the dust settled. Well, it’s been six months and the dust is mud. Check out Rune, Benji, Sergie, Morgan, Packy, Salba, Duane, Charnosky, Jessica, Julie, Holly, Nolan, Jake, Patch, Beenie and many more in the gallery; see all 90 photos.

Vancouver, WA has a new skate shop. Pistol’s Skate Shop celebrated their grand opening on Saturday, January 19. Not only can you buy skate gear but you can also test it out on their indoor mini-ramp. A few of the locals along with our friends from Bacon and Coldwar Skateboards did a little skateboarding as well. Check out some of the mini-ramp action after the turn.
So who is Black Francis? Well, replace Francis with Frank, switch the order of the words and think The Pixies. If you still don’t know, that’s O.K. just think of this as an educational experience. Black Francis played the Doug Fir Lounge on Monday and Tuesday of this past week. If you have been to the Doug Fir, you know how good of place it is to see a band; keep it like a secret. All we can say is the show was great and it made us want to buy the new album titled Bluefinger. Check out some pics of the show after the turn….
EPM in Tight Black Rubber Out!
The Columbian, a local paper in Vancouver, Washington, did a story and video piece on the new Vancouver Skatepark. Check it out here. Thanks to Thor and the Vancouver crew for a fun morning of skating. Click on the pic for a larger view of Benji in the capsule.
