Mega-Minis

Mega-Mini Crew: Tae, Tucker and Sean

Look what we found during this weekend’s eastern Oregon skate junket tucked away in the gorge, just slightly off the beaten path. It’s a mega-mini ramp along with some mini shreds. Working their way up to those switch 900’s just like Bob, check out Tucker, Sean and skateboarding’s equivalent of Frisch’s Big Boy after the turn. EPM “skate flugtag” Out!

Tantanoola Tiger

Monday Cover Vol. 4 Issue 44 - RJ Barbaro

Unlike the legendary Tantanoola Tiger, this Aussie cat is for real as well as this week’s Monday Cover skater. It’s RJ Barbaro, floating either a half-cab or frontside ollie-to-fakie during the West Linn stop of the 2010 Oregon Trifecta. RJ was on track to take the overall Trifecta title had it not been for a pre-contest injury at Tigard. Check out more pics of RJ tearing it up after the turn and hopefully, we’ll see him at next year’s event.

Congratulations RJ!

Monochrome Memories

Dennis Agnew, Tony Alva, Jay Adams and Duane Peters @ Marina Del Rey

While doing some research on the old Skatercross skate park, we stumbled upon an awesome gallery of photos from skate-days-gone-by at Marina Del Rey. If you skated in the late 70’s/early 80’s, you know that Marina was one of the premier skate parks of the time and it attracted many of the heavy shredders. Over thirty-one years in the making courtesy of photographer David Scott, check out this week’s Foto-Friday in the gallery below. Also, be sure to check out larger versions of the photos featured in the banner after the turn. Can you name the skaters? EPM “now where’s my fly-away and gyros” Out!

Shreddi Repas – Ripping Shredder

Shreddi Repas - Skateboard World Cover; Double Grab BS Air @ Skatercross

Thirty-three years have passed since this photo hit the newsstands and it’s still rad to this day. Who is it, you ask? Why, it’s none other than Shreddi Repas grabbing some air at the long defunct Skatercross. In addition to having one of the most appropriate skateboarding names ever, Shreddi is the originator of the standup grind (50-50), backside air to axle stall, fakie carve grinds (switch grinds) as well as fakie 360 rock-n-roll board slides. Check out a larger version of the cover after the turn along with a Shreddi/TA story. EPM “getting all histrionic” Out!

We are so stoked on their creations that we placed a Sorcery 118 button in our left navigation bar. Welcome dudes! Be sure to check out a few of their recent video offerings after the turn. Got a minute man? We sure hope so because it’s time again for Randy Katen’s Generation X live on KBGA FM Missoula. This week’s guest is none other than the man that played bass to D.
