Come on over to Extracto Roasters on Saturday afternoon, October 27th from 4-6 p.m., for the closing of the Fernhill Skatepark art benefit. There are still plenty of great photos for purchase and all proceeds go to building another “sick” skatepark here in our fine city. Oh yeah, day one of the 2010 Oregon Trifecta is in the books. Onward to day two and a skatepark where earlier Trifecta’s cut their teeth, West Linn. Come on out and enjoy some great skating. Don’t forget that the fine folks over at GO211 will be streaming the event live starting at 12pm PST today. Yesterday’s event in Lincoln City went off like clock work. We rolled into Reedsport as the sun was starting to set making this the last session of the day. A few locals were lurking about as Shawn and MC sized-up the park. MC pulled out some reserve wood while Shawn began to test pockets and hips. Reedsport offers some organic terrain outside of the norm and that’s part of its appeal. Some of the features include a large funnel for those that like the opportunity to loop, a large vert pocket with stamped tile and a large hip for blasting. The park seems to be holding up well with respect to the construction and the walls have a few interesting pieces of art on them. Check out a full gallery along with some select photos after the turn. We held up in Reedsport for the evening with only Florence, Toledo and Lincoln City left to skate on our final day.
Dru, Gabe, Jake and Zach have been getting their shred-on at some great Oregon Skateparks. It’s good to see up-and-coming shredders digging on the big walls. Also, kudos to the parents for sharing in their kids’ interests and thanks for the photos.
We printed and shipped the last batch of Lincoln City Snake Benefit shirts. So if you haven’t seen your shirt yet, it’s in the mail. Thanks again to everyone who supported the t-shirt effort and to the Lincoln City crew for one ill skatepark. We raised in the neighborhood of $500 for the park.
