Well, it’s time, once again, for the annual summer solstice skate adventure. This year we’re heading deep into bigfoot country on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Major skate targets include Forks and Port Angels. You can keep tabs on our adventure through our instagram photo stream and/or our facebook page. EPM “packing up and heading” Out!
The force is strong in this one. Chalk it up to some robust telomeres or possibly a high midichlorian count. Whatever the reason, this week’s Monday Cover skater, Mark Conahan, is full on jedi frontside invert at Forks. Check out a few more pics of Mark feeling the skate-force after the turn.

Tucked away, along the northern coast of the Olympic Peninsula, is the town of Forks. A community not only friendly to vampires, werewolves and sasquatch but to skaters as well. This week’s Monday Cover skater, Josh Gray, holds it down for the locals with this huge air out of the bowl. Sick! Sporting pool coping and some unique tile work, this well designed Grindline bowl is worth the trip. Check out a few more pics of Josh tearing it up after the turn.

Alright, here’s your chance to skate a couple of super fun skateparks along with 600 reasons, we’re talking $600 cash. The folks from Lib Tech are hosting a two day bowl contest starting at Port Angeles on Saturday, September 19th and wrapping up in Forks on Sunday, September 20th. The weather up there is epic this time of year along with great skate environs. Check out a larger flier after the turn and hope to see you there.
Yep, Forks, the last stop on our whirlwind Olympic Peninsula tour. Grindline did a great job on this park. The bowl finish is super smooth and the custom tile work is a nice touch. Other interesting features include a cool bricked stamped wall with coping, a concrete ribbon, a rock hit and a linear street section. The locals seemed stoked on their park as well they should be, it’s a good one. Check out the gallery for all the photos. Forks is worth the drive.
