Committed to civic duty with a penchant for skateboarding, a title well deserved by this week’s Monday Cover skater, Steve Grover. The 4th annual Pier Park cleanup went down this weekend and Steve, along with Jack and Frances, came out to help. Their reward? A job well done and the opportunity to skate a great skatepark. Are you looking to put your skate karma back in balance? Well, tomorrow, Saturday April 21st, presents at least two of these opportunities. First up is the annual clean up at Pier Park from 9am-1pm. Come on out and help spruce up the first skatepark built as part of Portland’s 19 skatepark plan. Next up on the skate karma tour is a benefit for the Brooklyn Street skate spot at Plan B. It’s a little known fact that Portland, Oregon was almost named Boston. It’s true and it came down to the flip of a coin. Speaking of Boston, this week’s Monday Cover skater and Bostonian, Andy Macdonald, took time out from the rigors of Dew-dom to skate Pier Park.
