The word from the folks in Hood River is that the concrete pouring is done for now. It about time they took a break. At the rate they were going, the entire City of Hood River would have been a skatepark by Fall. Thanks to local skater and photographer, Carl Warren, for capturing some of the activity at the park. Some kind of skate terrain energy must be flowing out of Mt. Hood. Check out a couple of new additions to the Hood River Skatepark and Windell’s B.O.B. after the turn.
Not only does it keep the weather at bay, it’s photogenic. What is it? Why, it’s the recently erected roof at the Hood River skatepark. So knotty. Check out some of Carl’s photos over on the Earth Patrol Network for a better view. EPM out!
It’s time, once again, for another Foto-Friday. This week, we travel North to Battle Ground for a mid-Winter session. Believe it or not, it’s difficult deciding which direction to head from Portland now that we have some great skate options: North to Battle Ground, South to Newberg, East to Hood River or West to Lincoln City. Bummer, huh? Oh well, somebody has to make the tough decisions. Check out all the pics in the gallery below.

Looks like the crew in Hood River is serious about skating year round. Carl Warren posted a few pics of the soon to be realized cover for a portion of the Hood River Skatepark. Those are some nice trusses.
It’s a go. The weekend of June 6th and 7th is the official date for the 2009 Sleestock Skateboard Conference in Hood River, OR. For anyone wanting to submit a paper for the conference, be aware that the deadline for all paper submissions is April 1st. Oh yeah, and you might want to bring your skateboard to occupy your time during conference intermissions. See you at the conference.
