February has arrived and kicking-off this month’s series of Monday Covers is skater-on-the-mend, Benji Galloway. Benji managed to seriously fracture his left arm days after his win at the Pier Park stop of the 2009 Oregon Bifecta. It seems he is feeling a bit better these days as witnessed with this backside ollie over the hip at MC’s bowl. Check out a few more pics of Benji shredding it up after the turn.

Alright, let’s hear it for Pier Park and the skating that went down yesterday. It seemed like there was a 360 degree stoke going down for all in attendance. What can we say but viva Pier Park as an annual stop for the Oregon Tri sometime Bi-Fecta. Enough gushing already, here’s your creme de la creme in each division: Ladies – Julie Kindstrand, Masters – Lance Mountain, Pros – Benji Galloway. Check out the pics after the turn and stay tuned for more detailed coverage in the coming days, weeks, months, etc…. You know the exercise.
Let’s just start by saying that the Northwest is overflowing with great skate spots and great skaters. Case in point, this week’s Monday Cover skater, Johnny Turgesen, hucking a trademark ollie over the deathbox as MC’s bowl. It was difficult deciding on which image of Johnny to use for the cover. Good is the operative word. Sleestock – Version 4.0 went down last weekend at the Hood River Skatepark and it was all good. Local medical staff reported a bit of an increase in face reattachments due to folks shredding them off but outside of that…, yep, it was all good. Thanks to skater/photogs: Tom, Shawn and Carl for capturing the action. All the goods after the turn.
The cage in MC’s bowl is just about done thanks to the efforts of Team Rebar. Sure was a hot day but Shawn’s Old Germans kept the crew chugging along. Check out a few more snaps after the turn. The concrete dermis is very near.

Better late than never. Closing out our 2008 Trifecta coverage is the Pro division of the final stop in Battle Ground, WA. The Bacon crew took the top three spots in a heated battle for Corn Cup supremacy. Congratulations Benji, Tim and Kevin, we’ll see you next year.
