Serendipity and Sass Dragons

Prizzy Prizzy Please, Sass Dragons on Earth Patrol

During this weekend’s music stumble about the web in search of new bands, we happened across Prizzy Prizzy Please, and the Sass Dragons. So what’s so serendipitous about these bands? Well, both bands are from the Midwest, think Indiana and Chicago. They put out a split album together, appropriately titled Split. To top it all off, the Sass Dragons are playing at Plan B tonight, Tuesday April 27. You know where we will be. Check out a few low-fi vids and a few links to PPP and Sass D. after the turn. Shrunken Shred

Earth Day Skate Mission

Lincoln City Skatepark - Phase V 2010 on Earth Patrol

The Skaters for Lincoln City Skateparks and the Dreamland crew have been busy. Phase V of the concrete mecca that is the Lincoln City Skatepark is finished and the jury says: “the best just got better.” A skate track, square bowl with curb spine, and other various phase transition elements are now ready for your shredding consideration. Check out way too many pics of the park in the gallery below. Also, please consider donating to the Skaters for Lincoln City Skateparks to help support a great skate community and the continued evolution of the park.

So what do you do after a day of snowboarding on Mt. Hood? If you’re Mark Partain, you head down the mountain to Hood River for some true Oregon ‘crete. Riding for the Old Man Army vet division, Mark has earned his stripes in the skate trenches. Off the board, you can find Mark surrounded by boards at Wally’s Skate shop in Hood River. Turning the dials of our way-back machine to 1985, we arrive at Del Mar Skaterpark on this week’s Yuri’s 80’s Re-Vert Fantasy Skate. It’s a classic bowl clash with many of the periods top skaters.
