Ripping Sacto

Team Shawn @ Granite Skatepark

Actually it’s more like ripping sack. Here’s Team Shawn posing with some art at the Granite skatepark in Sacramento. Another appropriate title might be a big head and two sad sacks. Just ask Team Shawn about it. EPM “in their titanium codpiece” out! Click on the image for a larger view.

Not Easy Being Green

Just in from the Merde/Bacon crew tour along the Oregon coast. This is Kevin Kowalski carving over the saucer lip at Coos Bay Skatepark. A Little Help

Bowl Benefit @ D.o.S., Saturday, July 13, 2009

A fellow skater, Taylor Appelo, is in need of a little help from friends. Taylor was the victim of a brutal assault and beating at a MAX stop in Portland and sustained some very serious injuries As a result, he is dealing with some monster medical bills. So in an effort to raise some cash to help Taylor, the Department of Skateboarding is hosting a jam style bowl contest this Saturday, June 13th with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Taylor. Come on out and show your support. All the details on the flier after the turn.

Thanks to Lorenzo for the heads-up.

Break on Through

MC’s Bowl Pour in 3D - June 6, 2009

Often while we were digging the hole that is now MC’s bowl, Mark would pose the question: “What song am I thinking of now?” On quite a few occasions the answer to that question was Break on Through by the Doors. It’s a place where we dug our treasures and now chase our pleasures. Now break on through to the other side of this post and check out some 3D cross-eyed pairs of MC’s bowl pour.

Good in the Hood

Sleestock 2009 @ Hood River Skatepark - Earth Patrol Network

Good is the operative word. Sleestock – Version 4.0 went down last weekend at the Hood River Skatepark and it was all good. Local medical staff reported a bit of an increase in face reattachments due to folks shredding them off but outside of that…, yep, it was all good. Thanks to skater/photogs: Tom, Shawn and Carl for capturing the action. All the goods after the turn.

Tommy Gun

Monday Cover Vol. 3 Issue 30 - Tommy Antonetti

This week’s Monday Cover is a first. Why? Well, because the featured skater, Tommy Antonetti, is shredding the gnar with his shotcrete nozzle as opposed to a skateboard. Tommy and a contingent of some of the best bowl finishers on the planet converged upon MC’s bowl this Saturday to pour some ‘crete. Final assessment, they killed it. Check out more pics of Tommy in the grit after the turn.

Congratulations Tommy and to the crew for what will be another slice of dreamland.

The Apple and the Tree

Jack and Steve - 2009 Coast Adventure

There’s a saying, the apple doesn’t fall from the tree. Well, this week’s installment of Foto-Friday presents photographic evidence that there just might be some truth in that statement. Check out Grover (the tree) and son Jack (the apple) as they enjoy a weekend of skating along the Oregon Coast.
