Shawn Reinert - Gap-up 180 @ Newberg

What the hey? If you’ve skated Newberg, you know how difficult it is to find the speed to even make this transfer, let alone throw in a 180. Well, Shawn did it and here’s the shot to prove it. You can check out more photos of Shawn over at his gallery on the Earth Patrol Network. Way to go Little Bob! See a larger version of the image after the turn.

Stereolab – Wonder Ballroom

Stereolab - Wonder Ballroom, Portland, Oregon

Portland manages to attract its share of great bands including England’s Stereolab. When we arrived at the Wonder Ballroom, it was packed with appreciative fans even before the opening band, Monade, started their set. The mystery as to why so many people were interested in the opening act was quickly resolved when Lætitia Sadier saddled up to the mic, a bonus for Stereolab fans. Why? Well, Lætitia also fronts Stereolab. That explains why the singers of these two bands looked so similar. Anyway, the show was great and we managed to snap a few photos as well. Check them out in the gallery. EPM out!

Eggs Benedict

Ed Benedict - Tread Lightly

The next skatepark slated for opening in Portland is located in Ed Benedict Park. It’s a massive plaza style offering and it looks fun as heck. Based on the progress and some other feedback, our guess it will open in the November timeframe. Check out some pics in the gallery below and then hop on over to SnA to see even more photos. Enjoy!

Bridge Work

Carl Warren - Photographer

About a week ago, we launched the Earth Patrol Network, a place for folks to share their creativity with respect to photos, video and music as it relates to skateboarding. As a follow-up, we are going to start recognizing contributions and contributors to the network. Our first person of note is Carl Warren and three of his recent images from Burnside Skatepark. Thanks for sharing those Carl; they are exceptional. Check out the images after the turn.
