Ladies @ Tigard - 2008 Trifecta

The 90 degree plus weather only added to the ladies heated session during the Tigard stop of the 2008 Trifecta. Some of the highlights included an ollie-to-flat by Justyce in the bowl, an invert by Erin and some big bowl transfers by Nora. Check out some more action in the gallery.

Concrete Kahoonas

Salba, Olson, Wally, Cooksie, Duncan

You’ve heard the term “in it for life”, well here are a few dudes that fit the phrase. It’s Steve “Salba” Alba, Steve “Bulky” Olson, Tom “Wally” Inouye, Chris “Cooksie” Cook and Dave “Double-D” Duncan. These are some of the skaters that blazed a trail for modern skateboarding and it’s always good to see them during Trifecta weekend. Check out a few pics after the turn.

Peer Pressure

Chris Miller and Andy Macdonal @ Pier Park

The mouse hole was getting worked during a recent session at Pier Park. Chris Miller, Andy Macdonald, Owen Nieder, Zach Miller and Rion Linderman dropped in for session with the locals. Not since the 2007 Trifecta has the mouse hole been worked so heavily. Chris rolled over the hole frontside at will and Andy took it both ways. Chris’ son, Zach, landed a few kick-flips over the hole and everyone was stoked to skate. Check out a gallery and some video of the session after the turn.

Monday Cover Vol. 2 Issue 41 - Wade Corley

This week’s Monday Cover skater, Wade Corley, takes it to the amoeba bowl in Lincoln City with this styling rock in the shallow. Wade is one of the local Lincoln City crew and shreds the park on a daily basis. If you have skated Lincoln City, chances are you have skated with Wade. Check out a full-frame of the image after the turn.

Congratulations Wade!

Recreational Skaters Celebrate

Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation Skatepark

The new Grindline skatepark at Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation Center is open for all those would be novice skaters. So if you see yourself as a novice skater, this park is for you. For those that see themselves as more than novice, well, it’s still a fun park. The concrete work is top notch and there’s some sweet Tedder’s coping in the worm run along with a simulated pole jam in the street section. Some other bonuses include: restrooms, a water fountain and lights until 10 p.m.. Check out a few shots from yesterday’s evening session after the turn.

As promised, here is the massive gallery from the Lincoln City 2008 Trifecta event. If you don’t find yourself in this series, just wait, there are two more posts coming soon for the Tigard and Battle Ground stops. For the sake of your sanity and ours, we left them in psuedo-alphabetical order. Gobble it up.

Skate ’til You Puke

Josh “Skreech” Sandoval - 2008 Trifecta

Just like Old Faithful, Josh “Skreech” Sandoval is good for at least one oral eruption per event; case in point, all three stops of this year’s Trifecta. In addition to creating biohazards at the park, Skreech kills it. Check out some pics of him shredding it up and if you have a backyard pool, Skreech wants to skate it.

Blame It On Rio

Bruno Passos - 2008 Trifecta

This year’s Trifecta included some new faces, case in point, Bruno Passos. Talk about some seriously smooth style, Bruno has it. In addition to taking top honors at the Lincoln City stop, Bruno skated his heart out the entire series and the crowd was digging it. Check out some of Bruno’s antics in the gallery and we hope he includes the 2009 Trifecta in his skate plans for next year. Vivo Bruno!

It’s Spelled: CARDONE

Daniel Cardone - 2008 Trifecta

Daniel gave us the inside scoop on how to spell his last name. So, for the record and anyone else that might want to write him a 4-foot check, it’s Cardone. Now with that out of the way, enjoy a few pics of Daniel ripping it up during this year’s Trifecta. Smooth and fast is how he skates, friendly and sincere is how he relates. Viva Cardone!

Battle Ground – Julie, Pat and Benji

Trifecta Update - Battle Ground
Battle Ground is a fitting name for the final stop of the 2008 Trifecta. Once again, the skating was insane and the crowd was stoked on the action. A few soldiers went down along the way and we wish them a speedy recovery. Top honors in each division included: Julie Kindstrand in the Ladies, Pat Ngoho in the Masters, and Benji Galloway in the Pro/Am. Check out the winners and more after the turn. Stay tuned for more coverage of the Battle Ground stop in future posts. EPM Out.
