Gone to Irrigon

Clay - FS Ollie Doorway @ Irrigon

Want to be on a Monday Cover? Sometimes it helps to ask and we just might oblige. Case in point, Clay grabs this weeks cover with a stylin’ frontside ollie over the door at the newly opened Irrigon, Oregon Skatepark.

Clay was totally stoked on this day and even rolled-in from the top of the capsule along with his Dad, Dave Tobin. Little brother Zane checked out his own lines through the capsule. See pictures of Dave and Zane after the turn.

Congratulations Clay and to the City of Irrigon for building such a great facility for their community. Also, check out some local coverage of the opening here.

Elastica, Kenickie and The Donnas

(F to B): Elastica, The Donnas, Kenickie

We are going on record here and expressing our desire for an Elastica/Kenickie reunion tour with special guests The Donnas. How much fun would that be? While we wait for word from the powers that be, here’s our own little private show featured on this week’s YouTube Tuesday. Rock Out!

Shred a Pose

Chris Nukala - Feeble Grind @ Pier Park

April has been kind to us weather-wise here in the Northwest and the locals are diggin’ it. This week’s Monday Cover features Chris Nukala showing us his latest move, a hurricane around the corner at Pier Park. It seems that Chris has a new trick for us every time we see him.

Not only does Chris keep pushing to improve his skating, he also likes to expand his skate environs. Check out some video of Chris skating terrain tweaks at Pier and more.

Congratulations Chris and keep the stoke!

Close Encounters of the Concrete Kind

Cosmic Dudes

So have you ever found yourself building rock formations with your mashed potatoes? We haven’t but we did come up with a helmet covered in lights for this week’s Foto-Friday.

Last night at Pier Park was the unveiling of the Earth Patrol Head-Lite, head gear for skating your favorite terrain sans external lighting. Check out a few pics from the session and remember the only light in the park was the one strapped to the skater’s head and the occasional flash from the camera. Enjoy!

Skatepark Music of the Late 70’s

Late 70's Bands
Just before punk saved the music world, you might have been carving your local snake run to some of the bands that we are featuring on this week’s YouTube Tuesday. So put on your Cooper/Norcon helmet, your leather gloves, nylon shorts, cloth knee pads and get radical. Here are some of the sounds from 1977-79:

Frigid H-Bonk on the Sun

Shawn - Figid H-Bonk @ Pier Park

It’s a Monday Cover first. Shawn Reinert, this weeks featured skater, gets frigid, once again, with a near earth celestial object. On this day, we captured Shawn mid frigid air head bonk or as we like to call it, the Frigid H-Bonk.

Check out some video of Shawn at Pier Park. See if you can spot the frigid h-bonk. Thanks to MC at AGP for the video find.

Congratulations Shawn!
